Seven years of Isobel Rose

I know, I know, it's been awfully quiet around here recently. All I can say is that I'm trying to work a few things out at the moment but I'm on my way back to blogging, I'm just juggling a lot at the moment.

Enough of the excuses. Let's get down to the reason for this post's existence. Seven long years ago to this date, I decided to sit down and create a simple little Blogger site to document not only my love for beauty but also to accompany me on a huge journey I was about to embark on; moving to the UK and starting my first year at university. I had already been strutting my stuff on YouTube for a number of years (for nostalgia's sake and decent chuckle, why not peruse some of my old videos?) and although I continued to enjoy making content for a good few years to come, I knew that I didn't like editing videos enough to step my production up to compete with the now exceptionally professional content creation prevalent on the platform. I also didn't like having to put on makeup just to film a video, or having to shoot during the day to get the optimum lighting - I'm much more of a '2 AM in my pyjamas' kinda girl. I always have been.

So that's how it all started.

Flash forward seven years through four years of university, relocating from Hong Kong to England, Russia, Spain and then back to England again, jobs and internships, highs and lows, blogging breaks and rushes of inspiration.

And now we're here.

From a naïve 18-year-old about to leave home for the first time to an equally naïve 24-year-old still trying to figure things out, this blog has been one of the main constants in my life. I can't say that I always show this little corner of the internet as much love as I should do, but I can't see myself letting it go completely anytime soon. Whatever may come, I can't keep myself off of the internet, so whether you keep up with me here or on one of the many social media channels I abuse, you'll never quite get rid of me! Thank you all for your continuous support and love, even when I neglect this space from time to time.

Here's to seven more years, eh?
